JV teams begin in 5th grade and Varsity teams are for 7th and 8th grade students.
Yes, until 6pm and this is available on half days as well. Supervised snack, outside play, homework time and inside play take place and it is held in our cafeteria. Registration is available in the office.
SJCS offers a variety of clubs and after school activities throughout the school year. These clubs are operated by faculty or school volunteers and decided on at the beginning of each school year. Clubs from the 21-22 school year include National Junior Honor Society, Girls Scouts, Student Council, Rosary Group, Church Youth Group, Yearbook Committee, Bible Study and Environmental Science.
Over the past 10 years, over 50% of Valedictorians and Salutatorians at St. Vincent’s Academy have been graduates of St. James Catholic School. Over the past 25 years, over 40% of Valedictorians and Salutatorians at Benedictine Military School have been graduates of St. James Catholic School. St. James graduates have also been represented at other area high schools.

This is a family that has children in the same grades as your children that will be in touch with you before school begins and can be used as an informational resource during the school year.
Uniforms can be purchased locally at Bahama Joe’s or through Land’s End. The Home & School Association also offers a used uniform closet.
Yes, we do have a limited amount of financial aid. A family must be registered (including registration fee) before applying for financial aid. The deadline to apply usually is mid-‐March. A family will usually receive notification of the evaluation in late May or early June. G.R.A.C.E. Scholar money is available to students transferring to a Catholic school from a public school and new PreK or Kindergarten students. Information is available in the office.
FACTS is on online school service that allows parents to view their child’s grades and averages, communicate with teachers and access information regarding assignments and school information.
Parents are required to work 15 volunteer hours each year. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities both at the school and at home.
