Upper School

St. James upper school encompasses grades 4-8.  The core subjects are Math, Social Studies, Science, Religion and Language Arts (vocabulary, spelling, reading and literature). Advanced Math is available for grades 5-8.  In addition, enrichment programs include Spanish, Music, Art, Computer, PE and Library. The upper school has an average class size of 23 students per class in a spacious and bright environment.

Students in the Upper School participate in the following interactive learning programs throughout the school year:

  • Living Stations – Grade 6
  • Science Fair – Grade 7
  • Deanery Spelling Bee – Grades 5-8
  • Oratorical contest – Grades 7-8
  • National Junior Honor Society – Grades 7-8
  • Student Council – Grades 4-8
